Within this article, I will be telling you everything you need to know about the Redcon1 Total War Pre Workout. I will be discussing what this product actually is, my personal experience with the product and the overall pros and cons of this pre-workout. Let’s get to the information!

What is Redcon1 Total War Pre Workout?

This pre-workout is one of the most well recognized in the game, and for good reason! It features a quality blend of ingredients that can actually be of benefit to you! While many companies include these ingredients, not all of them put the proper dosages within their products.

However, with this pre-workout, they come in the dosages that will actually make you feel like you are taking something that is beneficial. Believe me, I know… I have taken it myself, but more on that later!

This product features 6 grams of Citrulline Malate (the perfect dosage), 250 milligrams of caffeine which is enough to provide performance benefits for an individual of up to 83 kilograms from a single scoop. Lastly, the beta-alanine that helps us squeak out an extra rep or two comes in at the exact recommended dosage of 3.2 grams.

While this pre-workout is missing creatine, it doesn’t mean it isn’t effective. Many pre-workouts don’t include creatine in high enough dosages anyway. After all, you can always supplement with creatine monohydrate (which is not expensive at all, probably the cheapest supplement out there).

My Personal Experience With This Pre Workout:

To start this section of the article off, allow me to provide you with a quote of what I said to the owner of the supplement store I purchased this from after I had first taken it, “For effectiveness… I am lit… up it’s great! Definitely worth the money!”

Hopefully, this gives you an idea of what I think about this pre-workout. The types of ingredients, as well as the dosages of them, certainly make this pre-workout have a positive impact on your performance. I remember that training session being a great one!

This will be especially true if you are new to taking pre-workout (in which case I suggest starting with a half scoop), are coming off a break from caffeine/pre-workouts or are switching from a weaker pre-workout.

While this pre-workout gave tremendous benefit for my performance, there is only one drawback. I noticed a slight crash after taking it. It was nothing major, and it is difficult to even call it a crash. However, when comparing it to other pre-workouts where I didn’t feel this at all, it is worth mentioning.

With that being said, this pre-workout works and the crash is difficult to even notice!

Pros and Cons of the Total War Pre Workout:

Pros:

The first and primary pro of this product would be the type and dosages of the ingredients within it. This is for one simple reason. They provide benefits!

The second benefit of this pre-workout is the price. Considering you are getting a properly formulated and dosed product, paying $40.00 for 30 scoops ($1.33 per scoop) isn’t a terrible price. In my opinion, if you’re going to purchase a pre-workout, you may as well get something of quality; which this certainly is.

One final primary pro of this product is the taste. While it isn’t exceptional, I believe most people will find it to be quite a pleasant taste. With the flavour that I tried, it tasted exactly like the label, with a very slight chalkiness and bitterness to it. I personally gave the taste a rating of 8.5 out of 10.

Cons:

My main concern with this pre-workout is that some people (especially those who aren’t used to these products will feel a bit of a crash after taking it). While I didn’t notice it to be significant, it is something to be aware of.

The second con of this pre-workout is how it doesn’t contain creatine. I don’t see any reason for it to not, and creatine is the most researched and proven supplement there is. It would have been nice if they were able to include 5 grams of it so people don’t need to take it separately on the days they are training. None the less, creatine is cheap and easy to purchase and supplement with.

In all honesty… I am all out of cons. This pre-workout is great!

My Final Thoughts on This Pre Workout:

All in all, I firmly believe that Redcon1 did an outstanding job creating this product. I believe their customers can reap tremendous value from it, for a price that is actually worth their money.

  1. Hey thanks for the awesome review!! I have been using JET.  It’s real good but I’d kike to try this pre workout supplinent.  I know you was saying it doesn’t have creatine, but many people get it anyhow from post workout drinks or they may already have creatine as a suppliment.

    • Hi Jessie, I have not heard of JET, I will have to check it out! That is very true, I am confident you would like this pre-workout if you gave it a shot!

  2. This has been a very informative article and review.  I have recently started intensive workout sessions.  I would certainly like to take something beforehand, but honestly, did not even know where to start.

The Total War Pre-Workout product looks perfect.  I have a question about the creatine though.  Should I be taking this?  What will this exactly do for me?

I will keep an eye out for the “bit of a crash” feeling afterward my workout.

Great that there is a great deal on this at the moment.  I will certainly be back to let you know how I am getting on.

    Thanks again,

    Renée

    • Hi there, I am glad you found the article informative!

For your question, Creatine is the most widely studied supplement showing its safety and benefits. The greatest side effect would be minor digestive discomfort. If you feel this and don’t wish to continue taking Creatine, you can simply remove it from your nutrition plan.

Creatine helps increase your strength/performance from increasing available ATP energy (your bodies primary fuel source). It also retains some water which helps with performance and gives the appearance of more muscle.

Creatine has not been shown to benefit everyone, but the majority of people who take it properly will see benefits.

No supplement is required (unless needed for medical purposes). However, there are ones that can be beneficial and Creatine certainly is one of them!

I would always suggest talking with a doctor before starting any new supplement, however.

I hope that helps! Have a great day!

      ~ Kj
